Scots are well known for being justifiably proud of their record of inventions and influence across the modern world, and none are more proud than Vladimir McTavish. A Scottish History of the World is his third successive Fringe show to celebrate the land that has produced great thinkers such as David Hume but is also responsible for the deep fried Mars bar.
With his boundless enthusiasm and affable nature McTavish has no problem in generating laughs throughout his set, but some of his tales about how Scots apparently enjoy the occasional drink and are prone to glorious failure are so well-worn they are positively threadbare. First time visitors to Scotland who might be unfamiliar with its unique culture will love McTavish, but locals might find they've heard it all before: there's probably a Vladimir McTavish sitting in a bar near you at this very moment.
