Jude Simpson - Growing Up Games

This is one of the few fringe shows that will leave you feeling warm inside and content with the world

Jude Simpson is truly engaging. Few other fringe performers insist that their audience write down what it is, and what it isn't, that makes them feel grown up before they are allowed to set foot in the venue. You see, Simpson's show is all about growing up, and how we don't need things like mortgages and more debt than the average banana republic to feel like a proper adult. She much prefers channeling her energy into poems dedicated to manliness of Jose Mourinho, or rapping about misunderstandings surrounding spinsters.

Stand-up poetry and songs, all about delightfully whimsical topics, is Simpson's forte, and her charming sideways look at life is impossible not to enjoy. You might only spend an hour in her company, but by the end of the show she'll seem like your new best friend: there's precious little cynicism or irony involved here. Instead this is one of the few fringe shows that will leave you feeling warm inside and content with the world. And there's something quite unique about that.
