Accident and Emergency: Plenty More Fish in the Sea (But I Don't Have a Fish Fetish)

These two comedians begin their show by running through a glossary of native Irish terms. We are asked to consider that if we don't find the show funny it may simply be a translation issue and not that A&E aren't hilarious.

There are songs ("Hoors Love a Biscuit" was a favourite) and sketches galore. Andrea Farrell is really rather pushy towards her nerdy chum but this does set up the latter for some fantastic one-liners. Complementing Andrea's over-confident and slightly disillusioned outlook on life with Aedin McQueen's over-shy and cynical outlook makes for some really endearing sketches.

However, even in the small space that is 'Upstairs in the Fiddler's Elbow', McQueen is so immersed in character that she can be very hard to hear. This is a charming wee show with a good few laughs (and free biscuits), but in the end it may be the case that one or two more words need to be added to the glossary.
