Che Camille: A Month Of Shoes

Article by Esther Cain | 24 Feb 2010

Platforms, flats, boots, courts, sandals, wedges... whatever the style it's fair to say that every girl loves a good shoe. They can make or break an outfit and you never need an excuse to buy a new pair. So with Glasgow's Che Camille having a whole month dedicated to fashion's achilles heel, it would be rude not to put your best foot forward and head down to the Argyle Arcade to see what they've got on offer.

The 3500 square foot showroom/workshop will transform itself into a shoe heaven during the month of March. There will be exhibitions from the countries coolest cobblers including Hetty Rose and Kat Maconie.

Known for her use of incredible vintage kimono fabrics, Hetty Rose's gorgeous bespoke creations are works of art in their own right. Each pair is tailor-made to the customers specifications meaning no pair is ever the same, so you really can stand out from the crowd.

Kat Maconie has managed to make the simple ballet flat exciting and interesting. Taking inspiration from intricate jewellery and elegant detailing, these perfect pumps include a mould to measure insole providing added comfort and support so Maconie's designs are fashion forward whilst still being functional.

A catwalk show based on the featured designers handiwork will also take place during March, dates yet to be confirmed, in the Che Camille showroom. The event will also run into a clubnight playing tunes as cool and unique as the shoes.

Tickets can be bought from the Che Camille, Showroom and Studio, Floor 6, Argyll Chambers, 34 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, G2 8BD. Or online at www.checamille.com
