Bold Souls: Prohibition Glamour

Fashion seems to be placing an increasing significance on retrospective, era-defined glamour. For the past few seasons, it has seemed virtually impossible for editors and writers to discuss new trends without referring back to ‘90s grunge’ or ‘50s silhouettes’. And where catwalks lead, fashion events follow.

Last February, the team behind the Bold Souls series of pop-ups announced its first Prohibition Glamour night. The name obviously drew inspiration from the eponymous 1920s era, and the event itself was hugely successful. Following this positive response, Bold Souls has set the date for its second Prohibition Glamour night. On Thursday 7 June, Scottish fashionistas will flock to the CitizenM Hotel in Glasgow. And, much like the backroom political deals of the 1920s speakeasies, the event promises a unique opportunity to network. In addition, like last time, the event will showcase leading independent and underground fashion design with a celebratory fashion show.

Regular readers of the Skinny’s fashion section may well know that our team does not need an excuse to attend a fashion soiree (particularly when free bubbly is involved!). However, we’re particularly excited by the fact that the event offers an opportunity to buy one-off pieces directly from the designers being showcased, who will also be in attendance. The opportunity to buy an item directly after you’ve seen it on the catwalk is indeed one that seems too good to miss!

A limited presale of 100 tickets is online now. Tickets are priced at £10, and doors open at 6pm; the fashion show starts at 7pm. Presale tickets are available online now at http://bouldsouls.bigcartel.com. CitizenM Hotel, 60 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, G2 3BW http://bouldsouls.bigcartel.com
