As bold as its namesake; forging foward in ethical shopping

Bolshie is as bold as its name in forging forward in ethical and environmental shopping, and is part of a movement whose importance is growing in our increasingly globalised society. Conveniently sited amidst Glasgow Uni's Studentland district on Bank Street, Bolshie boldly straddles its dual functions of organic clothing store and café bar.

As such, it's a place where both the window shopper and café wanderer alike can feel instantly at home. The shop stocks a range of organic, recycled, fair trade and environmentally friendly clothing, with renowned branded ranges including Maggies and Howies, as well as locally sourced fabrics and tweeds for their made-to-measure ranges.

Also on offer, aside threads and coffee, is a range of fairly-traded and ethically and ecologically mined jewellery. Luxury ethical jewellery range Fifi Bijoux comprises pr't-a–porter ranges, as well as a bespoke engagement ring service.

The café now has longer opening hours for the spring and summer, daily until 9pm, with regular evening events, such as open mic nights. Bolshie is both a café with attitude and a store with style-savvy: a place for the discerning to shop and sip with a social conscience.

Open daily 11am until 9pm.
