A very merry Jamboree

Article by Adeline Amar | 06 Dec 2010

As we’ve now officially hit the festive time of year, art and crafts fairs are about to start popping up left, right and centre across Scotland, allowing shoppers to make the most of the ever so popular urban craft movement. One not to miss will be Dundee Jumboree’s Petite Noël on 15 December.

Previously featured in The Skinny (they’re that good), Dundee Jamboree is a collaborative project set up by a crafty group composed of Jen Collins, Nikki McWilliams and Lauren Gentry, who are now offering a unique and original Christmas shopping haven. Located at Roseangle Café Arts by Duncan of Jordanstone, from 5-9pm, Petite Noël will gather artists, designers and makers together under one roof. Expect stalls bustling with handmade designer items perfect for eclectic presents; jewellery, accessories, vintage items, zines and prints.

As a Christmas market wouldn’t be the same without the appropriate atmosphere, N_ilk will provide live music throughout the evening; the organisers have also planned festive munchies to keep the energy levels up. Last but not least, Petite Noël will feature a Gift Wrap Deli where shoppers can take their newly bought gifts to be wrapped, or pick from a selection of wrapping papers, ribbons, bows and tags – all handmade, of course.
