The Heresy Project

Generally fundamentalists of any kind are best avoided, but here self proclaimed "fundamental atheists" Rick Molland and Sully O'Sullivan really know how to rile the crowd into fervent disbelief. Can I get an amen? No you can't: we believe in nothing. There is something reminiscent of early 90s, late night Channel 4 about this double act; it could be the churlish banter between them, the knowing offensiveness or perhaps it's the feeling that their words are backed by genuine anger. Occasionally their 'preaching' overshadows the punchlines, but Molland and O'Sullivan always pull it back with appropriate inappropriateness. In the packed State Bar basement there are more than a few incredulous "oh fuck!" exclamations sprinkled throughout the laughter as another taste boundary is smashed through. The Heresy Project won't be for everyone; their Santa Claus theory alone would make Dan Brown blush, but if you don't manage to catch them now, you'll probably see them in hell - that's if you believe in one.
