Scottish Comedy Highlights: September 2026
If you didn't get your comedy fill from the Fringe, September sees touring comedians arriving in Scotland, plus the return of the Paisley Comedy Festival
The Fringe is over! If you’re as blue as we are and in need of replenishing your comedy thirst, here’s some top picks for the month which might help to soothe your woes. Fresh out the festival and on to UK tours with early doors in Glasgow we have Aoife Dunne (Òran Mór, Glasgow, 11 Sep), Aidan Jones (The Stand, Glasgow, 19 Sep), Celya AB (The Stand, Glasgow, 23 Sep), Vittorio Angelone (King’s Theatre, Glasgow, 24 Sep), Morgan Rees (The Stand, Glasgow, 30 Sep) and Jack Rooke (Òran Mór, Glasgow, 30 Sep).

Alasdair Beckett-King also tours his excellent show King of Crumbs which first debuted at last year’s Fringe (The Stand, Edinburgh, 22 Sep) while Maisie Adam graces the stage over in Glasgow (Pavilion Theatre, 23 Sep). Sergi Polo returns to Glasgow for the second time to host a night of comedy fully performed in Spanish after a previously sold out show (Glee Club, Glasgow, 20 Sep).
Paisley Comedy Festival runs 10-13 September with a fantastic line-up of Scottish comedians including (but not limited to) Matthew Gallagher, Susan Calman, Christopher Macarthur-Boyd and Connor Burns. Or if you’re new to the city and fancy giving stand-up a go, the festival is also hosting an open-mic over at Paisley Arts Centre on its opening night. With further acts still to be announced, it’s certain to be thoroughly enjoyable whether you’re 6 or 66 years old.
