Tomboy - Flamingo Remixes part. 2 (Trentemöller / Rodion rmxs) (Gomma)

For straight-up, crunching electro-house, his remix is nigh-on unbeatable

Single Review by Liam Arnold | 08 Oct 2007
Bringing his characteristic remix style to Tomboy's Flamingo, Trentemöller recontextualises spaced out electronica and ethereal female vocals into a paranoiac electro burner, whilst Rodion peppers the track with a salvo of Megadrive gunfire and Bomberman bleeps. Though the original vocal is reminiscent of Royksopp's What Else is There? Trentemöller fails to pull the same trick twice and the resultant piece lacks the euphoric quality of that particular rework. However, for straight-up, crunching electro-house, his remix is nigh-on unbeatable, making Justice look like rank amateurs and rendering the Rodion remix a little pointless. [Liam Arnold]
