Tolga Fidan - Venice/ Tanbulistan

A bizarre amalgamation of Berlin minimal beat and futuristic prog-rock sound effects

With the predilection for genre pigeonholing that goes with music journalism, it gives The Skinny great pleasure to dub Tolga Fidan techno-Floyd. A bizarre amalgamation of Berlin minimal beat and futuristic prog-rock sound effects, this double single is reminiscent of labelmate Onur Ozer's enthralling science-fiction sound. At nine and fourteen minutes respectively and filled with stripped-to-the-bone eastern strings, these two tracks sound like Syd Barrett gone jackin'. Bonkers. [Liam Arnold]
