Tayo - an artist at the top of his game

Article by Paddy Loughman | 10 Jun 2007
Anyone familiar with the recent Fabriclive release from Tayo, or his astounding essential selection mix (available from his MySpace page), will know that he does not pay heed to the restrictions of genre or categorisation, resulting in a sound that is painfully up to date. On the menu tonight are choice cuts from the world of breaks, electro, fidget-house, baile funk, dubstep and more, all sewn together effortlessly with technical aplomb and an unwavering awareness of his audience. With the key ingredient always being a healthy dose of bass, Duke Dumont meets the Bassbin Twins who meet Skream, sending the crowd into a frenzy of speaker-hugging euphoria, all delivered with a smile and a nod from the booth. This is an artist at the top of his game, and the genuine enjoyment he gathers from his craft translates into one disgustingly satisfying evening. [Paddy Loughman]
