His set perfectly demonstrates the less is more ethic so evident at Pokerflat, stripping house back to its bare essentials, revealing raw power often lost by DJs trying to hard to please

Subculture's impressive summer line-up continues, following DJ T with fellow Berliner and record label boss, Steve Bug. Residents Harri and Domenic warm up the receptive regulars with music both reminiscent of, and in reverence to, the minimal tech sound Bug's Pokerflat label has done so much to develop. Self-confessed workaholic Stefan Brugesch started with his first label Raw Elements in 1996 where he released his own album Volksworld, and compilations Da Minimal Fun Parts 1 & 2. This was then replaced by two new labels: Dessous, catering for his deep house tendencies, and Pokerflat, concentrating on the more minimal side of house, featuring more of his own productions like the popular mix series Bugnology, as well as fostering the careers of the likes of Trentemoller and Patrick Chardronnet. His set perfectly demonstrates the less is more ethic so evident at Pokerflat, stripping house back to its bare essentials, revealing raw power often lost by DJs trying to hard to please.
