Season of Sound takes place three times a year - during spring, summer then autumn/winter and has previously featured appearances from Kerri Chandler, Norman Jay and Shortee Blitz. "We base our bookings on producers that we most respect, who also have great reputations as DJs… and names that people may not have heard before," explains promoter Geoff M. Bamboo's third annual Season of Sound was launched with a guest appearance from the multi-talented Ron Carroll. A DJ, producer and singer-songwriter since the mid '80s, Carroll's worked with such names as Frankie Knuckles and Byron Stingly, while more recently he's remixed Bob Sinclair. Tonight he showcased his talents with a fine set of grooving, Chicago-town flavoured house to an enthusiastic Bamboo dancefloor, getting a great reaction when he used the mic to add his own powerful vocals over the tracks. Billy Woods provided the support, showing off his discophile tendencies in the Lounge. [Colin Chapman]
