Grooved up, body rocked and twisted out

Article by Jonny Ogg | 12 Nov 2006
It was a sellout on Wednesday at Po Na Na, and quite rightly so. Roni Size is arguably one of the most innovative drum and bass DJs and, without a doubt, a fundamental component of the scene's DNA. The horde of bodies inside Po Na Na required little warming up but were grooved up, body rocked and twisted out by Codenine, Marc E.P and E.N.O respectively. As Stamina took over from BZ on mic duties, Roni Size dropped a chain of two second long clips of classic tracks, emptying the bar and cramming the dancefloor. From then on it was full tilt, engaging the crowd in every aspect of d&b: hard, smooth, new and old, while Stamina MC rocked it from mid crowd. A full on party, decorated with high class beats, orchestrated by a legend. [Jonny Ogg]
