Rival Consoles - The Decadent EP

Rival Consoles' debut release The Decadent EP comes out this month, featuring seven acid-electro tracks. Full of blips and beeps, twists and turns, somehow none of the tracks seem very original or inspiring. The only tune worth a listen is Seventeen; twinkly and synth-ridden, with a dark, heavy bassline. All others seem to blend together into a drawn-out, bland fifteen minutes - hardly the sexy, decadent experience we were expecting. [Karen Taggart]
