Maps - It Will Find You

Nicely produced and crisp sounding, this record will do as well as the album

Label: Mute Records
Mute records have brought us another electronic gem in this new release. The debut album We Can Create has a fistful of good music, but this track was a wise choice for the single release. Bridging the gap between electronica and pop, but with a darkened twist, James Chapman has created a captivating track in It Will Find You. As the title suggests there is a foreboding feeling throughout the song. At first it sounds like a jazzed up version of My Angel Rocks Back And Fourth by Four Tet, which is a good way to start, but then it moves into prolonged vocals, rising and dipping bleeps and gramophone effect to finish. Nicely produced and crisp sounding, this record will do as well as the album. [Peter Burns]
