If you ever wondered what a squelchy, tech-house, electro and acid house style slap in the face would feel like (and who wouldn't), then Glasgow's Mind the Gap provided exactly that as it made its Arches debut with a showcase for the highly-rated Kitsune and Ed Banger record labels. The night was split over both arches and the Playroom, and each provided their own treats. Union of Knives were undoubtedly the biggest attraction in the Playroom, and will surely be holding far higher billings before long. Their fresh electronic indie style made it difficult for the following acts to reach the same dizzying heights. The main arch was also excellent yet sound troubles meant the most fun was to be had in the smaller packed arch where the suberb Caged Baby played the set of the night dropping the likes of Tiga before Touche kept up the high standard.
