Jack Rabbit Slim has nothing on this

It's openly known, even if only thanks to Jim Jarmusch, that Elvis was nothing more than a thief; a blatant, plagiarising, swivel-hipped thief who winked, smirked and thangyouvermush-ed his way into the hearts of millions. His shameless exploitation and pomade-slicked mis-representation of songs originally penned by black musicians is the second greatest con in American history, preceded only by the sale of Manhattan for a couple of necklaces.
It's easy to mistake Lost and Found for a list of testimonies against The Pelvis, compiled by the Rt Hon Keb Darge and Cut Chemist (Ma, Bsc, Nnja Tne) and collecting tracks from Buddy Griffin, Corky Jones, Jack Rabbit Slim, Chuck Berry (himself a mere Bo Diddley imitator) and Ronnie Hayward. As it turns out, this unmixed double CD is a catalogue of the Lost And Found parties former Wigan Casino DJ Keb Darge has been throwing in London. Jack Rabbit Slim has nothing on this. [Liam Arnold]
