Fire It Up meets Inside Out & Goodgreef, The Arches, Glasgow, April 8

The madness was memorably massive

This month's Inside Out installed its usual signature line-up of quality DJ talent but with every arch open including the café bar, the madness was memorably massive. As part of his 'Fire It Up' UK tour, Eddie Halliwell battled it out with Marcel Woods, Fred Baker, the mighty Goodgreef DJs Alex Kidd and Vinylgroover, and the resident Inside Out DJs, creating a mass orgy of banging hard dance and tech-trance music. After a hesitant false start due to a bottle of water being thrown at the DJ box, Halliwell proceeded on to deliver one of his usual uncompromising, floor bashing sets. Halliwell performed to the crowd with a highly visual set, his turntable trickery and effects seamless as he frantically banged out anthems like Valentino Kanzyiani's Nueva York with infectious energy. Alex Kidd's tough mash-up of techno and hard dance went down equally well with punters as they jumped off walls in appreciation. [Marj Walters]
