As The Unabombers, Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford established themselves as two of Northern England's cult heroes of all things electronic. The Elektrons is their latest incarnation, and Red Light Don't Stop is their exploration of the contemporary styles within British music today, from hip-hop to soul and grime to futuristic disco. Get Up featuring Pete Simpson was the Elektrons' initial endeavour and it is the success of this funky urban soulful anthem that spurred the duo to make the album. Dirty Basement featuring Eska and Stop It Hold It continue the jumping beats vibe, with their catchy hooks, rolling basslines and strong female vocals combining to form two of the strongest tracks on the album. Classic Cliché floats and flutters and this pop friendly number brightens up the day, while the rumbling bass and strong introspective lyrics of Wishing bring eclecticism to the tracks.
