Daniele Baldelli - Cosmic Asteroid 2006

This comeback release from the legendary Italian disco DJ Daniele Baldelli does exactly what it says on the tin. He provides a unique mix of trancey, spacey disco instrumentals mixed with cosmic, psychedelic sounds, with second track Atlantide looking set to be a sure-fire floor-filler. Throughout the record he uses special sounds and techniques previously heard only in his early eighties heyday, but rest assured, this is far from dated. With this release Baldelli wanted to make a statement against the recent rise of cheesy Italian disco across Europe, creating much deeper, harder disco stompers, and he has certainly achieved that. Having been a pioneer of the leftfield disco scene for over 20 years, based on these four tracks he looks set to continue orbiting the earth in his cosmic spaceship for many more years to come.
