Tronic @ Blackfriar's Basement, 4 Jul
Regular crowdpleasers Christ and Dextro join up for July's Tronic.
Tronic are in Blackfriar's once again on July 4th for another of their basement melees, with this month's line-up featuring regular crowd-pleasers Christ and Dextro on the bill. Christ hails from buzzing Scottish indie label Benbecula Records, and his involvement with Boards of Canada back in the early days has solidified his stature within leftfield electronic circles. Dextro joins the line-up from London-based Gronland Records. With prior releases on James Holden's Border Community, expect some pleasing electronic weirdness from him. Araya is Invernesian multi-instrumentalist and electronica producer Keir MacCulloch, whose IDM ambience includes influences from Celtic folksong and glitchcore. Finishing it all off are Lava Experiments, a combination of guitars, off-kilter vocals and analog synthesisers, twisted in their own unique fashion. [Don McVinnie]
