Sensu @ Liquid Lounge, Glasgow, May 28

Steer clear of the traditional formula and embrace Sensu

One of Glasgow's most promising underground nights returns this coming bank holiday Sunday and is sure to enhance its growing reputation with another night of quality house and techno. The quarterly party has exceeded all expectations by regularly filling its home in the Liquid Lounge and continues to push musical boundaries by booking emerging talents from around the globe, which have recently included groundbreaking production combo 2 Dollar Egg and the Tresor legend Todd Bodine. The night returns to its origins for a special residents night with Colours resident and Sensu promoter Giovanni Ferri playing back to back with his brother Francesco, joined by the other Sensu siblings Junior and Paul Ingram. The bill is completed with DJ Barry Price and highly-rated Freefall resident Alan Belshaw. All of the DJs play a sturdy blend of cutting edge house and meaty yet minimal techno that steers clear of the traditional formula and gets the dancefloor stirring. Sensu has gone from strength to strength since it took up its Liquid Lounge residency last year and it looks like it may be a fixture on the scene for some time. It's certain to be a deep, chunky and downright funky night and the entry fee is halved! [Sean McNamara]
