Come rain or shine, Pride celebrations or football commiserations; our June clubbing highlights will see you through the month
Kicking off the month, KIN-TU bring baile funk, dembow and techno to Stereo, Glasgow on Friday 5 June – Kontronatura and softchaos front the lineup. Blurr launch their inaugural club night at The Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh, spotlighting minimal ambient sounds and euphoric trance on Saturday 6 June. EHFM’s start to Pride unites the station’s LGBTQIA+ DJs at Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh for a night of queer joy (6 Jun). Berlin-based DJ and producer Benedikt Frey joins the Wrong Party! residents for an early evening party at La Cheetah Club, Glasgow – expect an eclectic selection of club sounds, from two-step to industrial (6 Jun).
Hang Tough welcome Wisdom Teeth label-heads Facta and K-Lone to the Berkeley Suite, Glasgow, for experimental electronica and UK bass on Friday 12 June. Still in Glasgow, Sub Club’s roof party returns with techno mainstays Slam, before the duo take to the basement all night long (12 Jun). From afterparties to prematch parties, NO SCOTLAND NO PARTY comes to Sketchy Beats Cafe, Edinburgh, on Saturday 13 June in anticipation of Scotland’s World Cup return. For fans of gabber, hardcore and breakneck bpms, Violent Magic Orchestra performs live at Out of Bounds, Stereo, Glasgow (13 Jun). In Edinburgh, Jamaica Yard sees Talawa Mama celebrate sounds from the Caribbean – expect soca, dancehall and vegan Caribbean bites included in your ticket (13 Jun).
Edinburgh Pride makes a colourful return as Femmergy take over The Biscuit Factory with Rahul.mp3, Annafleur and more on Friday 19 June. Expect a raunchier affair at the People’s Leisure Club, Edinburgh, as DRIP Pride explore queerness as commodity until 4am (19 Jun). Ten Years Lost, C Frame and 222babychai join CORP for a phone-free night of techno, electro and connection at The Poetry Club, Glasgow (20 Jun). On Friday 26 June, Daniel Avery and Richard Fearless begin their new residency, Goo, at The Berkley Suite, Glasgow (26 Jun). Lone closes out the month with his Hyperphantasia Tour – catch early shows at The Berkeley Suite, Glasgow (27 Jun) and Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh (28 Jun).
