Look to Pascadilis to 'Savas'!

Article by Alex Burden | 12 Nov 2006
Access makes another sporadic return this month for a head to head with Inner Rhythm; Salvas Pascadilis in the left hand corner, and Rolando in the right. Pascadilis cut his teeth in the late 80s as a house and funk DJ in Southern Germany, influenced by a mix of disco, funk, pop and breakdance. He changed tack in '91, becoming one of the first weekly techno residents in Stuttgart. It wasn't long before he got into the production side of things, and from 1995 he was releasing on Kubel and Gigolo. In 1999 he started his own label, Lasergun Records, which is still going strong today and has featured releases by Hakan Lidbo, Ruben Montesco and Water Lilly. For an evening of elecro-tech that's not afraid to extend a welcoming hand to disco, and a knowing nod at the 80s, look to Pascadilis to 'Savas'!

Straight outta Southwest Detroit comes Rolando, a man who needs little introduction in dance circles. He grew up with a solid musical background, absorbing the sensibilities of the Hispanic music he grew up with, and pushing him to nurture his talents. After being introduced to 'Mad' Mike Banks, Rolando became a member of the legendary Underground Resistance. You now only have to whisper 'Knights of the Jaguar' to send techno fans and producers alike, rabid with joy. The Los Hermanos label, a joint effort with Gerard Mitchell explored the styles set out in 'Knights…', but as of early last year, Rolando has gone it alone, leaving behind UR and Los Hermanos. Support comes from the Access and Inner Rhythm residents. [Alex Burden]
