Reverend Funk features two rooms seeking to provide alternative options for the crowd.

With Motherfunk on temporary leave to find a new home, there's a possible opening in the capital for a funk and soul night to make a big impact and attempt to steal its crown. Reverend Funk is a relatively new night returning to The Caves at the end of February to make it's own claim – and it stands every chance. The Caves is the coolest venue in Edinburgh, with dark nooks and crannies and candle-lit grottos to explore. Reverend Funk features two rooms seeking to provide alternative options for the crowd. The classics room – think Stevie Wonder and James Brown – features Lee Birchall on decks, and a jazz-funk room – think Roy Ayers and Herbie Hancock – will be manned by Tim Moore. Even more enterprising is the accompanying professional dance troupe, complete with Supremes and Coffy looks. Motherfunk definitely has a new serious rival on the block.
