Namosh @ Record Playerz, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, July 27th

Imagine him there, with his Euro moustache proclaiming he's ""gonna do it to you, on Friday night.""

If Saturday Night Fever was fuelled by LSD you would get something close to the vibe of the twisted Record Playerz club, and now they're springing another great gig on us. Bungalow artist Namosh, purveyor of Bavarian electro and tight-fit clothes is over in the UK to bolster some support for his latest album 'Moccatongue', which is track after track of freaked out electro rock with a dirty beat and Namosh's unique and changeable voice. Imagine him there, with his Euro moustache proclaiming he's "gonna do it to you, on Friday night." Chillingly intriguing, no? He's been hitting the Berlin scene hard, and now he's looking to go international. He's even rated by Bjork, who made the Cold Cream single her favourite of 2005. Record Playerz is a weekly club on Thursdays at Glasgow School of Art's Vic Bar, and has already been touted as "especially fantastic" by Franz Ferdinand, and hosted performances by Jamie Liddell and the Scissor Sisters. Support for Namosh will be the Playerz residents, Hifi Sean and Hushpuppy, blasting out a blend of electro, punk, retro-synth boogie, and 'punk-shock disco'. It's the biggest collection of bleeps you can hear and would probably have Moroder on his knees salivating at the door. The price is virtually non-existent, especially if you are an Art student, so don't be surprised if it fills as fast as Optimo on a Sunday night. Namosh will be on stage at 1am and queues are expected, so get there early to grab a space. [Alex Burden]
