Mind the Gap, Kompakt Records Special

Melodic klicker pop to a minimalist vibe flavoured by dub influences

The summer starts here in Glasgow's CCA on May 20th with this eagerly awaited Kompakt Records special, with Scottish debuts from Le Petit Orb, Jennifer Cardini and Jonas Bering. Mind The Gap has been running since January 2006 and has already established itself as the name bringing the cream of the underground clubbing scene to a rapturous crowd. Cologne's Kompakt label run by Michael Mayer is undoubtedly one of the hippest labels around, having brought us acts like Superpitcher, DJ Koze and Reinhard Voigt.

Le Petit Orb a.k.a Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlman perform together exclusively downstairs providing a soundscape of ambient grooves accompanied by the vibrant projections of gifted artist Hurden Husket and These Are Ideals, which are bound to exploit the use of such an amazing space. Upstairs, Jennifer Cardini and Jonas Bering will be making the intimate CCA:5 room theirs, aiming to recreate the uber-cool ethos that made them. Cardini's nights at Paris' Rex and Pulp clubs have gained legendary proportions whilst Bering's successful releases on Kompakt adeptly flow between melodic klicker pop to a minimalist vibe flavoured by dub influences. This event is going to be a stormer, and not forgetting Mind the Gap's championing for supporting local talent it has something for even the most discerning of underground clubbers. Tickets are £12 advanced, £15 on the night, doors at 9pm till 3am.
