Merznacht have been busying themselves with their "altered reggae and outer limit hip hop interspersed with live electronics and percussion improvisation" for over a year now, and have built up a steady following amongst those who like their beats off colour. Edinburgh's premiere "hyper-poetry space noise" group and Awkward Vessel (featuring MCs Obselite and Harlequinade, as well as live bass, sampling, flute and loops) will be providing a unique hip-hop sound that owes as much to Sun City Girls and Mr Bungle as it does to Aesop Rock. They will be performing several live sets throughout the night, with Gnomatron on board controlling the vertical and horizontal in a live visual installation. This night looks set to be an invigorating mash up of various styles and techniques, offering the capital's hungry clubbers something different to the usual pick of techno and house available. This is a night that all the funky-ass freaks and hip-hop hooligans out there definitely cannot afford to miss!
Free from 9pm onwards. http://merznacht.co.uk
