Right, no more bitching about no more clubs, some people are making the most of it. In Edinburgh, Alan Hostage and MartinBSE start their new night Ghost with their Tilt CD party featuring Stick 430 and Junior Lazarou playing live techno and electro, in a basement! (Anderson's Basement, July 1st, free). Alternatively for some classic Chicago house, Telefunken put on Lil Mark, the lesser known jacking house DJ (The Vaults, July 1st, £5). Taste's 12th birthday rounds off the first weekend with Josh The Funky 1 and Harri (Liquid Room, July 3rd, £10). Jackhammer throw a number of Sunday techno nights, first with Billy Nasty's electro swiftly followed with Christian Smith's tribal grooves (Cabaret Voltaire, July 9th, 16th, £10). Detroit is also back in town thanks to new club Inner Rhythm's DJ team and Brotherhood bringing down the 303 and a stupid amount of equipment. Get there early for free entry (Cabaret Voltaire, July 21st, £3). Two guests at Subculture this month with a tache-electro DJ set from Andrew Weatherall and some charming grins from Henrik Schwarz (Sub Club, 8th, 22nd, £12). New York's Frankie Bones brings the roof down at Monox with label partner in crime DJ Circuitbreaker (Soundhaus, 15th). Finally, the Soma label celebrate their fifteenth birthday with usual suspects Slam, Funk D'Void, Phil Kieran and The Vector Lovers (The Arches, July 28th, £12).
