Don't Drop: Marc Houle Live @ Sub Club, Thu 1 Sep

Techno innovator Marc Houle brings his renowned live act to Subbie, inspired by the classic sounds of Detroit and Chicago, as well as 80s new wave and the electronic sounds of early video games. A decade-long career of genre-defining records on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label, as well as his own Items & Things imprint, have positioned the Canadian as a pioneering force in the minimal sound of the mid-00s.

Numbers present Levon Vincent @ Sub Club, Fri 2 Sep

Back in Sub Club for round two, this time with techno purist Levon Vincent. The prolific DJ and producer has cemented his name as a true innovator in house and techno, with a clutch of forward thinking releases, including last year's excellent self-titled album on the Novel Sound label. Expect plenty of tunes designed for the dancefloor, as well as – in true Vincent style – some tracks that push just a little further.

The i AM presents Marcellus Pittman @ The Berkeley Suite, Sat 3 Sep

Over to The Berkeley Suite on Saturday, where locals Beta & Kappa will warm up the crowd before ceding the decks to Marcellus Pittman, an icon of the Motor City who has worked with basically everyone worth their salt in the contemporary Detroit scene. From his turn of the century recording debut alongside Theo Parrish, Pittmann has made his name with some of the most intelligent house releases in recent times. If you're in any way a house music aficianado, this is one not to miss.
