FLY presents LA LA Land @ Cabaret Voltaire, 1 July

A consistently quality offering every Friday night, FLY is Edinburgh's weekly underground house and techno party, with resident LA LA presenting a crew of all-female DJ talent on Friday. With previous guests including Kerri Chandler, Nicolas Jaar, Joris Voorn and Hot Since 82, and two of Scotland's finest new talents in club residents Denis Sulta and Theo Kottis, this might just be the night you discover dance music's next big thing.

Fear-E (Dixon Avenue Basement Jams), Velocity Funk, Dommm @ The Bongo Club, 1 July

New Dixon Avenue Basement Jams signing Fear-E celebrate with a vibrant selection of techno, house, acid, and electronica this Friday night at The Bongo Club. Substance resident Dommm will also be making an appearance, and it’s free entry before 12am.

Queens (Late Nite Tuff Guy) @ La Belle Angele, 2 July

Prior to adopting his Late Nite Tuff Guy guise, the Aussie-based Carmelo Bianchetti was well known for his work as DJ HMC and has been nicknamed ‘the godfather of Australian techno’. Having pioneered 90s acid house techno Down Under, it’s only in recent years that Bianchetti has turned his attention to disco and funk reworks, yet his tracks have already been played in sets by Jackmaster, Heidi and fellow disco vigilante Dimitri from Paris. Now, Late Nite Tuff Guy brings his disco cuts to the capital for a epic four-hour, all-night-long Queens end of season closing party.

With its rooftop terrace proving an excellent vantage point for observing last year’s T In The Park frivolity, returning party hub The Tennent’s Arms has just announced its lineup for this year’s festival.

A host of DJs handpicked by renowned taste makers Sub Club will be spinning up a storm across the weekend, lead by UK dance figurehead Greg Wilson, the enigmatic Marquis Hawkes and disco champions Horse Meat Disco. In addition, the likes of Harri, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Spencer, Hammer, Sensu, Telford, i AM, Rebecca Vasmant, Sunday Circus, and Big Foot's Tea Party ensure that it will be a groove-heavy affair, whatever the weather.
