Digitalism, Karnival, Caberet Voltaire, Aug 31 (skinnyfest 3)

Hamburg's freshest electro outfit Digitalism descends on the Cab with a bucketload of hype and a relentless supply of filthy grooves. The DJ and Production duo of Jens Moelle and Ismail Tuefekci have caused a stir this past year with remixes for the likes of Tom Vek, The Futureheads and Daft Punk, putting them in high demand at clubs and festivals all over the world. Productions such as the fuzzy, anthemic Zdarlight have found their way into the setlists of Tiga and Soulwax and also earned them a place on Paris label Kitsune alongside Cut Copy and Simian Mobile Disco. Expect some four deck antics with mash-ups and edits aplenty as they drop a range of minimal, acid, tech-house and punk tinged electro to keep the kids happy and on their feet. As well as the added bonus of a festival curfew, the usual Karnival festivities are assured with residents Ryan Ellis and Mike Pinkerton joining forces with Gareth Somerville and Fisher & Price for a tour de force of house-based nonsense in the main room and B.Sides holding it down in room two. Throw a band of magicians and professional freaks into the mix to mess with your already addled head (it's 1.50 drinks all night) and there you have it; what better way to see out the Edinburgh festival.
