Roni Size, Fabio & Grooverider- cannot fail in converting even the most musically constipated into full-on junglists

Feature by Dave O'Donnell | 17 Mar 2006
March brings three of the biggest names in Drum and Bass up to Edinburgh for two very special events. First Basstrap present the legendary Roni Size at the Bongo Club on the 10th. It has been a few years since the Full Cycle head honcho spun in Scotland, so this really is a rare opportunity that should not be missed. Then a week later on the 17th, Xplicit presents Xtra Bass Live in association with BCC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. This one-off event will feature a two-hour live broadcast on Radio 1 with sets from the mighty Fabio and Grooverider. With support provided by Bailey, Sappo and the Xplicit residents, this night cannot fail in converting even the most musically constipated of the Potterow faithful into full-on junglists. If you are looking for pre-club drinks before either of these events, or on any friday night for that matter, check out Switch-Up and the Codenine boys who each play bi-weekly at the City Café on Blair Street. There are also several other events worth checking out in March. Urizen begin their year-long monthly residency at Basura Blanca in Glasgow on the 3rd, with residents Hex, Junior Bryson, Mannan and Jay double U spinning the best in DnB and jungle. Also in Glasgow, Triple A, in conjuction with, continue their weekly Wednesday night sessions at the Liquid Lounge, with Scotland's finest selectors on rotation. And possibly the longest running midweek session in Scotland, Split at Caberet Voltaire, celebrates its birthday on Tuesday the 21st, so keep your eyes peeled for more details on that one!
