Any chances of February's nightlife being a slow burner have been dashed against the rocks, rejoice.

After the barren wasteland of social outings that was January it's time to look forward to things picking up. Banish any expectations of things slowly building up throughout the month though as it's all hit the ground running.

First up, CODE launches at Club 69 in Paisley on 19 Feb with a guest appearance from Alex Bau, who can usually be found filling much larger venues at the drop of a hat so this will be a chance to catch him in much more intimate surroundings.

The basement of Black Sparrow in Glasgow hosts the brand new listening experience on 13 Feb called Night Dreams, created by Hushpuppy and David Barbarossa. The evening promises to include "all things cosmic rock, funk, synths, jazz, as well as punk, new wave, progressive electronics, psych, kraut rock, weird pop, foreign disco avant garde and all manner of difficult listening."

Berlin's Redshape is filling a Fake Blood sized hole in 2010 thus far, not in terms of his sound but more due to the fact that he has become this year's man of mystery, constantly keeping his face hidden behind a red mask both on and off stage. He appears alongside Leigh Myles for a live set at the Cabaret Voltaire on 20 Feb with support from Kill the Kid and James Carroll. Both Redshape and Leigh Myles will also appear on 19 Feb at the O2ABC in Glasgow with support coming from local lads Le Mac and Rob Etherson.

Bigfoot's Teaparty continue their seemingly unstoppable rise on 5 Feb with a visit from Hermanez for a date at Glasgow School of Art, with support coming from residents Marmalade Man, Faux Pas and Redux. Hermanez hosts the prestigious club Cafe d'Anvers which has welcomed the likes of Paul Ritch, Reboot and Matthias Tanzmann into its booth.
Smirnoff continue their collaboration with Slam and the Sub Club this month with an appearance from both Prosumer and Shed at Subculture on 6 Feb, swiftly followed by Danton Eeprom at Optimo on 14 Feb.

Volume takes place at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh on 6 Feb, with free entry and a line up of familiar names. Termite, G-Mac, Paranoise and the mighty Brian D'Souza all control the playlist for an evening of fine music unrestrained by pigeon-holing. Also taking place in Sneaky Pete's and following a similar policy of 'anything goes' is Wasabi Disco which lands on 20 Feb, highly recommended.

In a case of under promotion so severe that it should carry some form of penalty, Etienne de Crecy sneaks his giant illuminated cube into Glasgow with a surprising amount of stealth. All those hoping for the entirety of Super Discount should vote with their feet at O2ABC on 5 Feb.
Space is short so lets keep it brief, due attention for Melting pot who have Jiscomusic's Mark E visiting the Admiral on 6 Feb and Departure Lounge as they welcome Bonobo into the fold on 26 Feb. Check the website for more on both acts.
