It's all about Liverpool Disco Festival this weekend, but if you're not in the mood for that then there's a pretty top ENRG line-up at Invisible Wind Factory with Fort Romeau and Scuba.

Liverpool Disco Festival: 30 Years of Southport Weekender @ various venues, 6 May 

Celebrating 30 years of popular soul music party Southport Weekender, Liverpool Disco Festival fires up the glitter cannon with a line-up of internationally renowned house, disco and gospel/soul maestros including Glitterbox, David Morales, Jazzy Jeff, D-Train, Ultra Nate, Tony Humphries, Joey Negro, John Morales, Mr Scruff and more, all spread out across the Baltic Triangle. From 12pm, £45 

Oh, and of course there are afterparties to choose from if the disco keeps on pumping. You've got Hustle and Deep Into Soul at Hangar 34, and Ghetto Disco at Constellations. Take your pick! 

ENRG 05. Thermal Energy: Scuba, Fort Romeau @ Invisible Wind Factory, 6 May 

Invisible Wind Factory continue their series of nights harnessing different kinds of energy (we've had potential, kinetic and others so far). What further types could there be, you ask?! That's right: thermal! Get warm and toasty with the textured sounds of Fort Romeau, Blehrin and the somewhat less cuddly Scuba. From 10pm, £10 

Liverpool Disco Festival Sunday Session @ 24 Kitchen Street, 7 May 

If Saturday night doesn't finish you off then you can say sayonara to Liverpool Disco Festival with a chilled party at Kitchen Street, kicking off at 3pm in the newly refurbished courtyard with a BBQ before heading indoors 'til the early hours with DJ Spen, Ultra Nate, Rahaan and more. Not bad at all. From 3pm, £7.50-£10

Fiesta Bombarda 5th Birthday @ Sefton Park Palm House, 2-3 Jun 

Touring carnival-style party Fiesta Bombarda celebrates its fifth year of throwing wild events in its original (and spiritual) home of Liverpool. Sefton Park's beautiful Victorian Palm House will be filled with the heavy, swinging rhythms of Red Eye HiFi, Bethlehem Casuals and many more, while there'll be plenty of activities to add to the colourful atmosphere from face painting to tropical set design. From 7pm, £17
