Less Effect presents Horsepower Productions and Karma
Soup Kitchen, 20 Oct, 11pm, £8

Top Liverpool promoters Less Effect introduce themselves to Manchester with an intimate party in Soup basement, led by Horsepower Productions' Matt HP and Si-Dee (playing a UK garage set) and Benny III (on dubstep duties). There's also an instore session at Eastern Bloc records on Stevenson Square beforehand.

CULT x Ossia with Max Graef, Glenn Astro and more
Hidden, 21 Oct, 10pm, £16.50 (£15 students)

A series of collaborations between two of Manchester's most forward-thinking underground parties brings some fine, fine artists to Hidden in the form of Max Graef and Glenn Astro, plus a live set from this year's winner of 'Best Name of All Time', Ross from Friends. Transmission Funk presents Randomer & Hodge
Joshua Brooks, 21 Oct, 11pm, £10

One of the kings of modern techno, Randomer – you'll know him from projects with Hessle Audio, Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. and Dekmantel – comes to JB's with support from Bristol's similarly minded Hodge. 

Disco Illusions presents Marshall Jefferson
1 Primrose Street, 22 Oct, 11pm, £12.50 

One of the founding fathers of house music headlines the first instalment of a new party series, Disco Illusions. As they say: "As the man who first put a piano on a house record, we've got a lot to be thankful for when it comes to Marshall Jefferson." DJs Joe Redmore and Henzo will also be on hand, ably taking you further into the night.

Kowton
Soup Kitchen, 29 Oct, 11pm, £10 

Since rising to prominence with Bristol-based crew Livity Sound, Joe Cowton – aka Kowton – has dovetailed his wide-ranging sonic explorations into a focused debut LP, Utility. He brings his trademark spartan rhythms embellished with colour and melody to Manchester this October, supported by Boomkat's Conor Thomas and Utrecht's A Made Up Sound.

Percolate's 4th birthday
Hidden, 19 Nov, 10pm, from £15

According to those ambitious bods at Percolate, 'the only thing better than a Jeremy Underground set is a Jeremy Underground all night long set' – so they've roped in the rare-house digger to play for seven full hours at their fourth birthday party. As you do.
