Blitzkrieg Bop, The Arches, Glasgow, 13 Jul

The music policy falls somewhere between electro and indie, but combined with the visual emphasis of the night, it's not possible to categorise this night as anything other than Blitzkrieg Bop

A relatively cheap night for the Arches, Blitzkrieg has nestled itself nicely into a regular monthly slot. The promoters have taken a step back from run of the mill club nights and are trying to offer clubbers a unique experience mixed with fresh new tunes. The music policy falls somewhere between electro and indie, but combined with the visual emphasis of the night, it's not possible to categorise this night as anything other than Blitzkrieg Bop. Capable of booking some of the hottest acts around, the night looks set to ride out the first semester with ease, before breaking for the summer. July's Bop session will offer live performances from Mother and the Addicts and Damn Shames, alongside some DJ sets of the highest calibre from none other than Chicks on Speed, Dolby Anol DJs and Arches' favorite, Ladytron. A yummy looking line-up, reeking of fun. [Peter Burns]
