Guest Selector: Mar-T

Ahead of Creamfields, we catch up with Mar-T to find out which records from 2017 you can expect to hear in his set

Thanks to his near-two decade residency at Ibiza's Amnesia, Martin Vega – aka Mar-T – has become a key cog in the European dance scene. Born in Barcelona, the DJ and producer has a knack for creating a great dancefloor vibe thanks to his eclectic selecting style. Mar-T plays this year's Creamfields festival as part of a star-packed line-up including the likes of The Black Madonna, Stormzy, Diplo and Jackmaster; ahead of the festival, Vega talks us through some of the fresh records you might hear over the course of his set.

Tian Karl – Take Control [Moan, 2017]

"Since Tian released on my label WOW! Recordings, I've been following his music and this track is one of my favourites right now. It's especially good for big events where you can feel all the power of the track without it being too aggressive."

Amine Edge & DANCE Feat. SerGy – Bad Influence (Jesse Perez Remix) [CUFF, 2017]

"Jesse Perez delivers a solid remix with hypnotic vocals which drive the crowd crazy, plus its hi-hats panning from side-to-side and tight house groove make it stand out from the rest!"

Mat.Joe – Turner [Weapons, 2017]

"This track is great, I really like the crazy vocals and the (in many ways) old school sound, which always works!"

Emanuel Satie – Come As You Are (Luca Donzelli & Mar-T Remix) [Saved Records, 2017]

"Emanuel Satie's original was a bomb so it was a difficult remix to make, it took us a long time but finally this was the result. The remix has been working very well in my sets, so it definitely will be in my selection for any big festival."

EJECA – Brava [Exploris, 2017]

"I really love EJECA. I almost always like his productions and they work really well in my sets so, of course, I had to include one of his."

Compact Grey – Oh Yeah! (GruuvElement's Remix) [Who Else Black, 2017]

"This track had to be included as it has sooooo much groove and pure energy, it's been working great in my sets."

Nitin – Sunday Grey (Art Department Remix) [No.19 Music, 2017]

"This is a real nice one, a tinge of techno vibes with emotive grooves, obviously perfect for festivals."

Subb-an – Self Control [One Records, 2017]

"‘When I move my body, everybody watches!’ Yeah, come on – I can't stop dancing! Nothing more is needed to be said."

Big Miz – The Bomb [Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, 2017]

"This one has a wicked melody that always works perfectly on the dancefloor!"

Kaiserdisco & Karotte – Mauve [Tronic, 2017]

"If the crowd want more, put this on! I'm not a big fan of too much techno, but sometimes in big events it makes sense to make it more intense and keep the crowd hooked."
