DJ Chart: Milton Jackson

Glasgow's Milton Jackson offers up the ten tracks currently holding a residency in his record bag.

Feature by Emma Kilday | 28 Jul 2009

1. Night Bell (Original mix) - Plasmik (Connaissuer Records): Love this for the deep dark chords near the end, clever groove which almost turns in on itself halfway through.

2. Deep Heat (Original mix) - Kris Wadsworth (Dark Energy Records): Kris provides the Detroit goods for the label I run with Shur-i-kan, very bumpy and warm. Kris's productions don't mess about.

3. Silent State (Original mix) - STL (Smallville Records): This is a genius record, the sounds and vibe are so dreamy, definitely in the "I wish I made this one" category. Like Berlin techno deep house or something.

4. Love Tempo (Original mix) - Agnes (Sthlmaudio Recordings): Agnes is probably my favourite producer of the past few years. Old-school Strictly Rhythm grooves with a modern twist. I buy everything he does without listening to it.

5. Channel by Channel (Original mix) - Markus Homm (High Grade Records): Just a great chordy groover for playing out. Never get tired of these.

6. Uno Dos Tres (Runaway Remix) - Jackpot (Permanent Vacation Records): : Really eclectic record, love all the elements dropping in and out.

7. The Time is Now (Shur-I-Khan Perspective) - Sygaire (Room with a View Records): Shur-i-kan again proves his mastery of all things deep with this excellent remix.

8. Gone Too Far (Milton Jackson remix) - Karol XVII and MB Valence feat Robert Owens (Loco Records): Me remixing the amazing producers Karol and MB featuring none other than the legendary Robert Owens on vox.

9. 1998 (Hiro remix) - Milton Jackson (Tronicsole Records): Elusive and camera-shy Japanese artist Hiro remixes my old Rhodes workout track 1998 on Tronicsole.

10. Bear Music (Original mix) - Commix (Hospital Records): My token D&B chart inclusion.

Milton Jackson plays Kreep on 7 Aug, Cadillac on 15 Aug and Summer's End Festival on 21 Aug.
