DJ CHART: Hobbes & the Dalek's Soundclash (Trouble & Dfrnt Drum)

Feature by Andrew Cooke | 15 Jul 2006

1. DJ Jin - Les Cactus (Walt Disney)
An unaccredited out-take by Japanese jazz punks Soil & 'Pimp', this rare bomb comes courtesy of a Dimitri From Paris compilation inspired by Walt Disney's 'Aristocats'! (Props to Fryer for playing this first at Motherfunk).

2. Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators w/ Jimmy Tenor - My Four Leaf Clover/Holdin' On (Timmion)
Latest AA single from this soul sensation's incredible debut album. Destined to become a future classic.

3. Spank Rock - Sweet Talk (Big Dada)
With the Phil Spector sample, this is the poppiest cut from new hip hop heroes Spank Rock's awesome debut. Hands in the air for the drop!

4. Bugz in The Attic - Move Aside (V2 Nurture)
First taster of the Bugz' upcoming long-player and if it's all as good as this, 2006 should soon be known as 'the year Bugz crossed over'. Floor-bustin' beats.

5. Shit Robot - Wrong Galaxy (DFA)
Devastating electronic dance from the DFA. What else?!

6. Spektrum - May Day (DJ T remix) (Nonstop)
Ace new punky funk from one of the most underrated bands in the UK just now.

7. Sharon Phillips - Want 2 Need 2 (Trentmoller remix) (GI)
CRAZY electro on some serious 'next level' shit courtesy of that genius called Trentmoller. Filthy!

8. Herbert - Moving Like A Train (Jamie Lidell's Radio Raw Hymn remix) (!K7)
Lidell gives the new Herbert some Prince-like p-funk style and mad, mad beats. What a pairing!

9. Can - I Want More (Mute)
Recently re-issued 1976 hit from those seminal art school favourites. Sounding very fresh just now.

10. Quantic - Tell It Like You Mean It (Tru Thoughts)
The anthem from Quantic's great new album: crazy beats, crazy bass and choice horns all the way. Lovely.
