DJ Chart: Boom Monk Ben (Solid Steel / Mixed Bizness)

Glasgow's flame-haired minister of big bass recommends his top 8 for March.

Feature by Chris Duncan | 01 Mar 2010

1. Headhunter - Prototype (Modeselektor's Broken Handbrake remix) (Tempa)
Everyone's favourite Germans show us how dubstep should be done. Incredible.

2. Zebra Baby - +1 (Schlachthofbronx Remix) (Forthcoming ITD Music)
The new sound of Munich collides with the new sound of Brooklyn for some serious dance floor bizzle.

3. ZED BIAS - Neighbourhood 09 feat MC RUMPUS & NICKY PRINCE (Zed Bias club mix) (Biasphere Music)
Zed Bias is hot on the UK Funky scene just now and this bouncy ragga number is a perfect example of why.

4. Hovatron - Gold Star Radiation (Lo Fi Funk)
Montreal's finest treats us to a slice of digital, acid hip hop beats. Brilliant stuff from a serious new talent.

5. Freeland - Rock On (Siriusmo Remix) (Marine Parade)
One of the most consistent producers of recent times does us all a favour by removing most of Freeland and giving us much more of Siriusmo.

6. The Leisure Allstars - How We Roll feat Good People (Substatic's 'Pork Chop You Don't Stop' Remix) (Forthcoming Leisure Recordings)
The best hip-hop Bristol has to offer gets some serious low-end remix treatment. A Mixed Bizness classic.

7. Rob Threezy - Seranata (Forthcoming 2 Hype)
Rob Threezy is leading the charge of the new generation of Chicago producers with his bumpin', old skool rave cut-ups and neck-jerking kicks.

8. Zinc & Ms Dynamite - Wile Out (Bingo)
The main man shows us how pop music should be done. If Basement Jaxx were any good, they would sound like this.
