The new Corn Exchange gallery, located on Constitution St in Leith, will open its doors to the public on Feb 2. Housed inside the beautiful Corn Exchange building, this new addition to the gallery scene promises to be one of the most exciting places to see contemporary art in Scotland. The first exhibition will be by Florencia Durante, whose playful photographs explore the kinetic properties of light and the relationship between photographic representation and human sight.

Scottish born artist Jo Milne has a solo show opening at the Amber Roome on Cumberland Street, commencing on Feb 2. Her work takes inspiration from coded forms of information such as Braille and DNA, questioning our use of technology and information through the use of the brushstroke. This looks like it should be good fodder for anyone who's into deconstructing the way we see the world.

Here you can see the fruits of the RSA's Hospitalfied Residencies in which young, emerging artists are given the space and encouragement to produce new work in new surroundings. Photographs, spatial interventions and fabric sculptures are promised. This show will run until Feb 12.

The latest instalment of the New Work Scotland Programme featuring Will Duke and Alexander Stalmann is now open at The Collective Gallery until March, and Doggerfisher will unveil its latest group show on Feb 17.
