Call yourself a filmmaker?

The fifth edition of the Leith Short Film Festival will this year take place from 10-13 June at Duncan Place and Iso-Lounge in Leith. As in previous years, the event will feature short films from Scottish, British and international short film makers.

Submissions are now accepted for short films, with films of all genres and budgets to be considered. Entrants may submit more than one work.

For those more into writing than shooting, the Festival has also teamed up with the Scottish Screenwriters Group to offer a screenplay competition. The winner will receive the Edinburgh Screenwriters Official Award, with their screenplay to be broadcast on Leith FM.

Application guidelines, entry forms and plenty more information can be found on www.leithshortfilms.co.uk. The deadline is 7 May 2010, and the winners will be informed in May.

Good luck!
