Dumpling Monkey

Blink and you’ll miss it, for this hidden gem is attached to the laptop repair shop next door, with a massive blue sign above the door declaring 'INTERNET CAFE/FREE WIFI'. But, come hither... if you look closely, you’ll see the smaller letters below advertising Chinese dumplings. Whilst free wifi is always a bonus, it isn’t the main event, and Dumpling Monkey’s hot, authentic bundles of steamed joy should surely be the focus here.

It's worth mentioning that the restaurant is tiny, with enough space for around twenty to sit, lined up on small bench-style tables – but, luckily, takeaway is also an option. Bright and clean with prints of Chinese cities adorning the walls, it has a studenty feel to it, reflected in the glorious prices. The menu is comprised of a selection of dumplings, congee, baozi and noodles, and any of these will get you considerable change from a tenner. They might even share the wifi password with you if you ask nicely.
