As soon as night falls – 6pm, that is – it’s out with the coffee and in with the beer. Well, here it is, anyway. By day, you’ll know it as Caffeine and Co., but once the toaster’s put away it becomes Neukölln, a Berlin-inspired bar. The stripped-back look and exposed lighting might be more akin to something you’d see in – whispers – that there London, but we’re welcoming it with open arms anyway. A carefully curated beer menu specialises in pilsners and weisse beers; elsewhere there’s one each of red, white and rose, saving the indecisive the mind-boggling hassle of choice. We like their style. Careful on the seats, mind – they’re old seamstress’s chairs. Best to cosy up at the window or the bar, we say. [Anna Tully]
