Liverpool’s restaurant scene has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years - put simply, there are now loads of great places to eat in Liverpool city centre. For your basic, know-what-you’re-getting chain places - your Pizza Huts, your Red Hot Buffets, your Yo! Sushis - there’s Liverpool One, a sprawling shopping complex with a diverse array of places to dine.
If you’re after something a little more unique, however, there’s Panoramic 34, a much-loved local staple on the edge of the business district. Towering 100 metres above sea level, it offers the best view of the Liverpool skyline, as well as some tasty fare. Newer places such as The Old Blind School are worth your trade too, as are many of the hotel restaurants such as the Malmaison, and that’s without mentioning the dining districts of Bold Street (home, naturally, to the locally-adored Bold Street Coffee) or, out in the south end of the city, Lark Lane. Basically whether you’re in the mood for street food, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Lebanese or even a gourmet-style burger that’s guaranteed to leave your face a mess as you enter a blissful trance, there’s a restaurant somewhere in Liverpool to suit your needs.
With the city’s dining scene so spread out across the city, it can be hard to know where to go, especially if you’re new to Merseyside.
