Clyde Auditorium
Affectionately known to locals as “the armadillo” on account of its ridged exterior and having been compared to the Sydney Opera House, the Clyde Auditorium is an iconic Glasgow institution sitting on the River Clyde adjacent to its bigger sister, the SECC. Like the SECC, its general and rather charmless interior plays second fiddle to its capacity to hold 3,000 or so people, for any kind of conference, performance or public event. It’s this quality which has won the venue a cameo in The Simpsons, as the location where Susan Boyle was ‘discovered’ by the Britain’s Got Talent judges.
