Bonbon Chocolate Boutique

Waves of cocoa-scented goodness wash over you as you enter this small but perfectly formed chocolate shop, located slap bang in the middle of the Northern Quarter. Unconventional flavours are on the menu: stilton and caramel, cardamom, and lemongrass are all on offer for those that fancy something different. They’re the only chocolatier in Manchester to produce their own chocolate on the premises, using fresh ingredients and skipping on the preservatives to create seriously scrumptious treats. They also serve fine hot chocolates, cakes, brownies and truffles, which are created by the team behind Teacup Kitchen — a cafe just over the road from Bonbon — as well as stocking artisan products from chocolatiers from around the world that you may not be able to find anywhere else in Manchester. More recently they teamed up with a couple of local ice cream producers to serve up high-quality cones and sundaes, garnished with Bonbon’s products. [Charlotte Davies]
